Abstract:
The paper presents the results of study works undertaken within a framework of the Research Grant "Rationalisation of electrical energy consumption in railways" financed by the State Committee of Scientific Research and commissioned by Ministry of Transport and Maritime Economy. The main results of the complex study with a system approach to the problem, taking into account technical, financial and economical aspects are described. The derived methodology of the assessment of the short-term and long-term activity and investments in order to make the energy consuming being rational is presented. Internal and external influence of different factors on the energy consuming by railway transport are emphasised.
