The transmission line representation of a two rail track is used in the paper for purposes of preparation the measurements of their parameters. The previous paper by the author has presented the new method of simultaneous measurements of frequency-dependent electrical parameters of the track, which could be applied for in situ measurements. To check the validity of the method and to choose the optimal conditions for measurements the method of simulation was used. Results of exemplary measurements undertaken on different tracks are as well enclosed.
INTRODUCTION
The method of simultaneous measurements X, Y parameters of the 2-rail track presented in [17] is correct from a mathematical point of view. But in order to check its validity a set of ‘simulation’ measurements are to be carried out. The simulation transmission model of a 3-conductor 2-rail track in the presence of ground have been composed as described in [17]. The application of simulation for preparation of the measurements and in situ measurements using the derived model are presented in this paper.
